**ANNUAL SALARY**:$55,466

**LOCATION**:All JHSYR offices (virtually and in-person)

John Howard Society of York Region (JHSYR) is a non-profit, charitable organization serving residents of York Region. The organization works with individuals involved in any stage of criminal justice involvement and their families.

The function of this position is to oversee the day-to-day operations of programs and services within Adult Services. This includes, but is not limited to, the Direct Accountability Program, Mental Health and Addictions Peer Support Program, Reintegration Program, EMPower, and Mindset. This role involves directing and supervising employees working within the Adult Services Programs. A primary responsibility of the Program Coordinator is to ensure successful achievement of deliverables of any funding agreements, service contracts, or partnerships between JHSYR and external third parties.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**:

- Responsible for the supervision of all staff, students and volunteers working in Adult Services programs
- Provide onboarding orientation, ongoing training, and performance management to staff, students and volunteers involved in Adult Services programs
- Ensure that client services are operated efficiently and effectively and are implemented in adherence to directives and programs standards of JHSYR and funders
- Ensure that services are delivered in a way that reflects the racial, cultural, linguistic and gender-specific needs of the community being served
- Liaise and collaborate with Crown Attorneys, Duty Counsel, Defense Counsel, Probation and Parole Officers, community partners, and other stakeholders
- Monitor and coordinate staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage within all program functions
- Develop, review, and maintain program curriculum and guidelines
- Develop and maintain program brochures and promotional materials in adherence with agency branding
- Oversee client fee payment process, including reconciling payments with financial ledgers and coordinating cash payments
- Draft required client reports and letters
- Complete and assist with required program statistics and reporting
- Provide support and guidance to all staff under direct supervision
- Complete annual performance evaluations for all Adult Services staff
- Increase the accessibility, relevance, responsiveness and quality of Adult Services
- Collaborate with senior management to ensure funder expectations are met
- Participate in grant writing to secure agency funding
- Attend community meetings as directed by the Program Manager
- Engage in continuous learning as directed by the Program Manager
- Attend and participate in agency meetings as directed by the Program Manager
- Perform other duties or tasks as directed by the Program Manager
- Exercise a flexible, non-judgmental, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive approach to people and work
- Flexibility to accommodate staff support outside of regular work hours
- Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and weekends

**PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE**:

- Knowledge of reintegration models and practices, with a strong understanding of access and equity issues for people involved with the criminal justice system
- Familiarity with community trends and resources as they pertain to the criminal justice system, mental health, and homelessness
- Ability to speak multiple languages is an asset
- Lived experience of criminal justice involvement, substance use and/or the mental health system is an asset
- Strong multi-tasking, problem-solving and decision-making skills with proven success at identifying and resolving issues
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Professional demeanor with strong rapport and relationship building skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with community agencies and community stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to lead and support a clinical team to achieve program deliverables and team cohesion
- Approach work through a trauma-informed, client-centred lens

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Employment experience in the non-profit social services sector
- Post-Secondary education in a related field, or equivalent work-related experience
- More than 3 years experience supervising and leading a team in a relevant field of practice
- Experience working with funders in the non-profit sector
- Understanding of non-profit budgeting and delivering programs within various budget requirements
- Understanding of the grant-writing process
