Adult Day Program Coordinator
- Job Description:_

The Adult Day Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, planning, implementing, and monitoring all activities and services related to the Adult Day Program. This role also provides support for other recreational activities within the senior center and works closely with volunteers, participants, and other staff to ensure high-quality programming that meets the diverse needs of the senior community.
- Key Responsibilities:_

**Program Development & Implementation**:

- Coordinate, plan, implement, and evaluate person-centered programs for the Adult Day Program that meet the social, physical, emotional, and cognitive needs of participants.
- Continuously gather feedback from participants and families to ensure activities are engaging and beneficial.
- Provide support for activities organized by residents and other senior programs, ensuring a vibrant and inclusive environment.

**Volunteer & Student Supervision**:

- Recruit, train, supervise, and provide ongoing support to volunteers and students assigned to the Adult Day Program and Buddy System Program.
- Coordinate the involvement of volunteers, ensuring alignment with the goals of the Adult Day Program.

**Recreation Guide & Calendar**:

- Schedule, design, update, and print the Recreation Guide and Monthly Activities Calendar for the Adult Day Program and other senior activities.
- Ensure all activities are accurately represented and well-promoted.
- Records & Reporting:

- Maintain accurate statistics, records, and reports for the Adult Day Program, including participant attendance, satisfaction, and health and safety incidents.
- Prepare and submit detailed monthly reports and calendars to the supervisor for review and approval.

**Health & Safety**:

- Monitor participant well-being during activities, respond promptly to health-related concerns, and ensure the safety of all participants.
- Participate actively in fire drills, alarm situations, and ensure compliance with health and safety protocols.

**Fundraising & Community Engagement**:

- Support the Senior Centre Committee in organizing and implementing fundraising activities to enhance program offerings.
- Promote and maintain the Adult Day Program membership, fostering positive relationships with participants, families, and the community.

**Collaboration & Communication**:

- Work cooperatively with other departments to provide a seamless experience for participants.
- Keep the supervisor informed of all relevant matters through regular meetings, memos, and monthly reports.
- Attend general, team, and committee meetings, including but not limited to Special Events, Care Team, and Social Committee.

**Administration & Organization**:

- Maintain an organized filing system and ensure office and storage spaces are kept clean and tidy.
- Ensure all relevant correspondence, calendars, and promotional materials are submitted for proofing and approval.
- Other Duties:

- Participate in S.C.O.C. in-services and training opportunities as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

**Qualifications**:

- Degree or diploma in Recreation, Gerontology, Social Work, Kinesiology or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with seniors or in a similar environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work compassionately with seniors, their families, and volunteers.
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and evaluate person-centered programs.
- Experience in volunteer coordination and community engagement.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards in senior care.
