Transportation Supervisor

We are currently seeking a full time **Transportation Supervisor** to join our team for the Milton Facility.

**Description of Role**:
Reporting to the Transportation Manager, the Transportation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day to day execution of our drivers, dispatching and routing of new and existing customers to meet optimum standards of efficiency while meeting customer expectations for delivery times.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Communication with drivers through dispatch during the regular course of deliveries to ensure a smooth delivery process for our drivers and our customers
- Ensures that our drivers and our fleet are in compliance with all Ministry of Labour and Ministry of Transportation safety standards at all times
- Assists the Transportation Manager in record keeping, and repair and maintenance documentation and follow up on vehicles.
- Works closely with the Sales Team and Customer Service representatives in daily operations and dispatcher
- Works with a continuous improvement mindset to find ways of improving our transportation efficiencies
- Provides drivers with coaching as needed to ensure smooth operation of day to day deliveries
- Works closely with Driver Trainer to complete coaching trips and after incident driver follow ups
- within Milton,London and Ottawa depots.
- Works with Samsara and Fleetwyze to ensure ELD is learned and used where required.
- Involved in accident documentation and follow up with drivers as needed
- Key team member in hiring and training programs for new drivers
- Responsible for overseeing the training program for all new staff members
- Ensures that all aspects of Food Safety are trained, understood and administered with 100% compliance
- Has thorough knowledge of relevant Health and Safety regulations.
- Ensures employees are properly trained on all aspects of Health and Safety Programs
- Actively seeks to maintain and improve company CVOR rating

**Skills, Qualifications, and Experience**:

- Diploma from accredited college or university ( warehouse or supply chain management)
- Has minimum two years experience in a transportation supervisory or similar role
- Can maintain a flexible work schedule
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills
- The ability to plan and organize daily and weekly employee task and schedules
- Experience with routing or logistics is an asset
- Must possess the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Must possess strong decision-making skills
