- **Slingshot Transportation Inc. continues to expand our operation. We have an exciting new opportunity for 2 Dispatch Supervisors to join the leadership of our operations team at the Milton ON terminal.**_
- **Shift: Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday**_
- **Salary Range $70,000-$75,000 dependent on experience. Overtime paid over 40 hours.**_

**Position Purpose**:
**1.** Provide strong leadership, direction, instructions and guidance to the dispatchers, drivers, and yard coordinators.

**2.** To ensure accurate, effective, and responsible planning and coordinating of drivers, pickups, deliveries, and equipment maintenance.

**3.** Responsible for identifying, addressing, and reporting escalated issues or challenges to Management and participating in progressive discipline procedures.

**4.** Establish, forge, and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and vendors.

**5.** Accurately and rapidly resolve issues to help mitigate delays.

**6.** Delegate day-to-day dispatch responsibilities as necessary to dispatchers, drivers, and yard coordinators.

**7.** Ensure all equipment is being used effectively.

**8.** Evaluate driver and equipment resources and communicate needs to obtain required resources.

**9.** Work with dispatch team to develop action plans to improve driver performance and customer service.

**10.** Ensure administrative compliance.

**Knowledge**
- Working knowledge of equipment (trucks and trailers)
- Working knowledge in the transportation industry.
- Excellent knowledge of North American geography

**Skills and Abilities**
- Confident in leading a high performing team within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership abilities
- Ability to lead and work in a team environment during high pressure situations.
- Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
- Ability to listen, speak and communicate effectively, often in some state of distress.
- High degree of proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
- Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
- Strong ability to multitask.
- Ability to effectively delegate and monitor required tasks.

**Other Requirements**
- A minimum of 5 years Supervisor experience within the transportation industry, preferably truck dispatch experience.
- Must be able to provide after-hours and weekend support when necessary.
- Must have a reliable personal vehicle.
- Must have a proven record of supervising a minimum of 10 direct reports.
