TAAG Accounting is looking for a Manager to join the team. This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated individual who is looking to progress their career in Public Accounting. The qualified individual must be able to work with new and existing clients, and supervise, train, and manage an accounting team.

Reporting to the Partners and Senior Management, the Manager will be responsible for working directly with the clients and on all aspects of the accounting and taxation processes. The Manager will focus on the following activities:

- Tax strategies and tax planning for clients;
- Work with clients to formalize tax planning tools for retirement;
- Full cycle accounting;
- Prepare regular financial reports, income statements, balance sheets and statements of cash flow for various clients;
- Responsible for monthly and quarterly financial close process;
- Prepare timely and accurate journal entries as required;
- Preparation and review of working paper files and corporate tax provisions and returns;
- Review general ledger accounts activities to ensure account accuracy of financial statements;
- Prepare and review HST returns, payroll remittances, and bank reconciliations;
- Preparation and review of Personal and Corporate Income Tax returns;
- Develop and maintain new client relations;
- Provide leadership and technical guidance on engagements;
- Prepare and maintain financial forecasts and budgets for clients;
- Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team;
- Meet new clients and promote firm services; and
- Support the management team in various related activities.
- An accounting designation (CGA, CA, CMA, CPA);
- Minimum of two (2) years of management experience;
- Minimum of five (5) years of related work experience;
- Experience in managing, training and supervising a team that directly reports to you;
- Experience working with Small/Medium Businesses;
- Knowledge or exposure to ASPE/IFRS would be considered an asset;
- Good knowledge of Excel, Sage Simply Accounting, Quickbooks, Taxprep and Caseware;
- Capable of managing demanding situations;
- Capable of solving problems and using sound judgment;
- Strong communication skills and ability to answer client questions;
- Must be comfortable promoting firm services, working on and offsite with clients and signing new clients;
- Quality and detail oriented and able to meet tight deadlines;
- Excellent team player; and
- Bilingual (English/French) an asset.

This position also provides an opportunity to fast-track becoming a partner at the firm.
