We at The Mule Cambridge value the security and safety of all workers and guests. As an Other Bird employee, you will maintain a welcoming presence that reflects what makes visiting The Mule Cambridge enjoyable, while also undertaking the surveillance of our premises and the protection of our staff and visitors. In addition, you will be responsible for detecting any suspicious happenings and preventing vandalism, thefts or any other criminal behavior.
- **What will I be doing?**_
- Inspect and patrol The Mule Cambridge’s inside and outside premises regularly.
- Assist in authorizing the entrance of guests during late night hours and ensure they are not showing significant signs of intoxication or use of substances.
- Follow guest capacity restrictions and ensure the restaurant does not exceed its limit.
- Resolve and report any suspicious events or behaviours in a professional and timely manner.
- Diffuse difficult conversations or situations verbally and without the use of physical force.
- Assist in confirming all exits, doors and windows are closed and secure upon the restaurant’s closing.
- Provide assistance to workers or guests in need.
- Effectively communicate with the General Manager & Chef de Cuisine and all other members of The Mule’s management regarding any daily updates or issues verbally or through 7-Shifts.
- Participate in all meetings and training as required.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by The Mule's Management Team.
- **Do I qualify?**_

**Education & Experience Requirements**:

- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Security Guard License is required.
- Diploma in Hospitality or Security will be an asset.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as security or in a similar role is required.
- First Aid/CPR and Self-defense training is preferred.

**Skills & Abilities**:

- Good understanding of legal guidelines for area security and public safety.
- Effective troubleshooting and ability to recognize & prevent problems before they arise.
- Outstanding surveillance and observation skills.
- Proficient communication and organizational skills.
- Critical thinker and problem-solver.
- Must possess strong interpersonal and team player skills, and have the ability to adapt to different communication styles & personality types.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 0-29 per week

**Salary**: From $20.00 per hour
