The QC Manager will provide leadership to the Quality Control Laboratory and is responsible for overseeing lab supervisors and chemists, documentation, records handling, and quality control in compliance with all applicable standards and regulations. Use their knowledge and organization skills to manage the individuals responsible for all laboratory operations including analytical and microbiological testing. Perform other duties as required to meet company/department goals and in compliance with cGMPs.

As an active member of the Cronos Fermentation Site Management contributes to strategic planning and leverage the capability of the team to lead the development and implementation of new, or improved quality programs to meet regulatory requirements, business objectives and goals, including on-going continuous improvement programs.

This position is based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Manages and supervises laboratory operation of analytical and microbiological testing, including planning, prioritizing, and scheduling daily work and projects for testing of the samples
- Manages and supervises laboratory staff and operation of analytical testing, including training, evaluating, and directing of supervisors and chemists.
- Provides technical and quality oversight of sample preparation processes and testing
- Leads method development, qualification and validation of testing methods and SOPs. Establishes testing specifications and protocols
- Create objective and action plans that are consistent with the goals developed by the Director of Quality and Compliance /or Cronos Fermentation Management.
- Ensure that all methods for testing are in place and ensure that all the tests are conducted in a timely manner to meet customer requirements.
- Ensure that all related SOPs, Protocols, Reports, analytical Reports, Certificate of Analysis, Annual Product Review Report, OOS Investigation Report and/or other documents are prepared as necessary/required.
- Assesses, develops, and reviews all operational processes and testing methods for continuous improvement.
- Ensure that all operational procedures, test methods, and documentation are implemented, effectively and efficiently, in compliance with cGMP, GPP and other regulatory guidelines.
- Oversee the preparation of documents including Study Protocols, Study Reports, SOPs, Annual Product Review report, etc., as required.
- Perform all tasks in compliance with cGMP and other regulatory guidelines, and follow SOPs, when appropriate.
- Investigates, determines, and coordinates corrective steps on non-conforming results.
- Supports QA department in investigations, assigning root cause, and determining corrective actions.
- Must work in compliance with the established company policies of the Health and Safety Act. Must use personal protective equipment and/or clothing to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for self and others.
- Ensure safety, health and environmental policies/procedures are followed:

- Use safe work practices and procedures by following company policies and procedures and wearing the personal protective equipment and clothing provided.
- Report unsafe acts and conditions; correct unsafe acts and conditions; comply with the standards and regulations of the Health and Safety Act
- Review the information on the Health and Safety Act Prepare progress summaries or reports to the Director of Quality and Compliance as required.
- Recruit, train, develop and manage effectively the ongoing performance of direct reports, which includes, but is not limited to: Ensuring their Job Descriptions are reviewed, signed and sent to Human Resources Reviewing and updating employee development plans, ensuring that all employees are properly trained and qualified to execute their duties, Providing coaching, feedback and recognition,
