Are you an experienced, detail oriented individual? **Steel River Solutions (SRS) **has an exciting opportunity for a **QC Lead** **to join our team on project in **Winnipeg, Manitoba**. **This position is responsible for a wide range of general quality control and leadership activities.

**OVERVIEW**

Directly reporting to the Project Manager and functionally reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Control Lead is responsible for implementing and maintaining the SRS quality program and adhering to standard quality operational policies and procedures.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Participate in a Contract Review and ensure all key Quality concerns are addressed and agreed upon with the Client prior to the commencement of the project.
- Review project specifications and assist in pre-job planning.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of the Project Quality Management Plan and the Project Inspection and Test Plan
- Review and approve suppliers’ inspection and test plans against the milestone scope of work and client specifications.
- Provide guidance to subcontractors to compile turnover documentation
- Responsible to directly perform, or delegate the performance of, quality inspections and audits to ensure conformance with the project design, construction specifications, and procedures for welding, coating, and other pipeline construction activities as noted within the PQMP.
- Responsible for preparing binders for the foremen containing specifications, IFC drawings and project work plans relevant to their scope of work.
- Implementing and communicating QMS and Client processes.
- Liaise with the Client Quality Representatives to address all Quality related aspects of the project.
- Responsible to communicate any known deficiencies which may result in an NCR to the Superintendent and Project Manager.
- Ensure, whenever necessary, the update of site quality control plans and ITPs.
- Verify received material/equipment conforms to specifications and all traceability documentation is retained as required by SRS's QMS and the Project Quality Plan.
- Verify that inspections, tests, installations and documentation adhere to the Project Quality Plan.
- Coordinate and provide the supervision and audit of sub-contractors to ensure quality standards are being met and that proper documentation is maintained and turned over to SRS upon completion of work.
- Perform field tests and inspections for soil, concrete, structural, equipment, HDPE piping installation, welding and other installations as required by Customer, Regulatory Authorities and the Company Management.
- Maintain filing system to include test reports, radiography, inspection reports, non-conformance reports, corrective action taken and instructions to Installers.
- Ensures maintenance, calibration and safekeeping of test instruments/equipment.
- Create As-built marked-up drawings showing status of accepted work.
- Oversee welding activities on the Project site by performing welding parameter verifications and reviewing/maintaining welder qualifications.
- Coordinate NDE for all site quality control activities including civil, structural and mechanical disciplines and maintain a current log of all work that identified quality percentages and quality generated repairs.
- Utilize applicable procedures, codes and standards to evaluate test and inspection reports, recommending acceptable or rejection.
- Identify, report and resolve quality problems and verify implemented solutions, as required.
- Ensure turnover is compiled in accordance with SRS policies, standards, procedures and project requirements.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**

**Qualifications**
- CSA W178.2 Level 2 Inspection Certificate
- Certified Quality Engineer, Quality Auditor, Quality Inspector, or relevant trade tickets desirable
- Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration

**Experience**
- Procurement (to the extent not managed by the client)
- Materials Receipt, Handling and Storage
- Civil (Grading and Backfilling)
- HDPE Piping Installation
- HDD
- Flange Bolt-up
- Hydrostatic Pressure Testing
- Clean-up and restoration

**Skills and Knowledge**
- Thorough knowledge of Excel, Word, and Bluebeam
- Excellent organizational, technical writing and verbal communication skills are essential
- Computer skills in databases, spreadsheets and word processing for tracking, analyzing, and communicating related data. Ability to input and manipulate data and create reports, as required, in a timely fashion.
