**The work we do**:

- Land use planning and approvals processes
- Plan, policy and bylaw development
- Municipal and intermunicipal collaboration
- Engagement, communications, and facilitation
- Local and regional strategic planning

**Responsibilities**:

- Effectively managing a wide range of planning assignments including land development, community planning, policy development, and strategic planning.
- Contributing to the development of municipal planning documents and policies, including Municipal Development Plans, Area Structure Plans, Outline Plans, zoning by-laws, etc.
- Designing, facilitating, and supporting strategic planning and community engagement sessions.
- Business development and proposal preparation for planning and multi-disciplinary projects.

**Qualifications**:

- An accredited degree in Planning or closely related field. A Master’s degree is an asset.
- 4-6 years of progressively responsible experience in municipal planning, intermunicipal or regional planning, land use, or related planning experience.
- Eligibility for Registered Professional Planner (RPP) designation. RPP designation is an asset.
- Strong understanding and experience working within Alberta’s planning framework, the Municipal Government Act, and development approval processes.
- Experience in public participation. IAP2 training is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in projects that are complex and have long-term impacts.
- Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and build and strengthen relationships with interested parties, clients, contractors, and municipal partners.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
