- As the Planner I, you will provide planning information and geodemographic analysis to guide the future development of Calgary toward long-term sustainability. Primary duties include:
- Respond to a variety of requests for information from the Corporation and the public.
Coordinate and maintain The City's geodemographic data, models, and publications.
Conduct research and technical analysis using GIS, Microsoft Excel and other modeling methods contribute to policy work and performance measurement, and formulate recommendations based on analysis.
- **Qualifications**
***A degree in Planning that is recognized by the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) and no years of experience; OR
A degree in a Planning related discipline with at least 1 year of relevant planning experience.
Demonstrate spatial analytic capabilities and experience evaluating, consolidating or analyzing a variety of data sources using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), spreadsheets, databases, statistical packages and other technologies such as dashboards would be considered an asset.
Understand the policy and development approval processes at the municipal level.
Familiar with the Canadian planning practice and Provincial legislation.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel) would be considered an asset.
Ability to provide excellence in customer service to internal and external customers.
Effectively communicates with the team and the public and collaborates on projects as a team player.
Demonstrate sound planning analysis and research skills along with professional judgment. Is teachable and able to learn quickly in a fast paced highly responsive environment.
Build, maintain and foster beneficial relationships and contacts.
Actively facilitate conflict resolution; promotes and contributes to team goals; pursues proactive problem solving.
Demonstrate strategic and analytical thinking while remaining adaptable and open to change.

- Compensation: Pay Grade 11 $42.09 - 56.27 per hour
- Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
- work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
- Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
