**ORGANIZATIONAL PROFILE**

The Mechanical Contractors Association of Toronto is the leader of the mechanical industrial,

commercial, and institutional sectors.

Our role is to promote the professionalism and safety of mechanical services through education,

labour relations, public relations, and government affairs.

Originally called the Toronto Labour Bureau, MCA Toronto has strong roots, organized in 1963 by a few far-thinking individuals who recognized the need for a formalized management group for the

purpose of bargaining with the Union. The name was changed in 1964 to accurately reflect the

changing scope of operations.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Mechanical Contractors Association of Toronto is currently seeking an initiative-taking and experienced professional to oversee marketing/events/member services for the Association. The Marketing/Events and Member Services Administrator will work closely with the Managing Director to oversee marketing, events, education, and member services to enhance contractor members, associate members and industry partners when corresponding with the Association.

The Administrator is primarily responsible for communications, event planning and implementation, database management, and other tasks as required. In addition, the Administrator will play a key support role at the Association's Annual General Meeting and other events.

Working hours for this position are 8:30 to 5 Monday to Friday in office with occasional evenings and weekends for Association events. Remote work is not available for this position.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role or association environment.
- Post secondary education in a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in event planning and logístical support (In-person & virtual): RFP creation, registration, hotel & A/V rate negotiation, ordering catering, BEO review and run of show creation etc.
- Ability to manage and create event budgets.
- Understanding of contemporary trends and developments in events, as well as the promotion and marketing of association events.
- Exceptional written and oral communications abilities.
- Experience working with volunteer Boards.
- Proven experience in social media, event, and website management (including but not limited online platforms such as Zoom etc.)
- Experience in managing third-party firms and suppliers.
- Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.
- Strategic and forward thinking, with an ability to find solutions in a fast-paced environment.

**ASSETS**
- Knowledge of Canada's construction industry and trade contracting sector.
- Knowledge of design and production processes for print, web, and multimedia.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Conceptualizes, develops, and implements strategies to provide value to MCAT members.
- Manage membership database and CRM to ensure accurate and up-to-date information on members.
- Work closely with senior leadership on key MCAT programs and initiatives.
- Responsible for developing and implementing annual communications campaigns and opinion polling.
- Ensures the quality and accuracy of MCAT's external materials.
- Liaise with provincial and local association partners to deliver on the MCAT value proposition to its members.
- Organize all the logístical components for face-to-face meetings and events: such as RSVP's, locations, and requirements: arranging A/V room set-up and catering: and reviewing related proposals, contracts and confirming invoices.
- Work with Managing Director and keep a running list of upcoming events to ensure there are no conflicts and liaising with communications to ensure they are listed on the website and published in the newsletter.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES continued**
- Co-ordinate as required the planning of Board meetings and Committee meetings.
- Planning and execution of promotional strategies with regards to MCAT events/courses
