Mishka Social Services is a Hamilton-based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting newcomers, immigrants, refugees, and racialized communities. We offer culturally responsive programs, food security services, a respite program for individuals with disabilities, and other vital community resources.

**Position Summary**

We are looking for compassionate and energetic volunteers to join our respite program as **Recreational Aides**. Volunteers will play a key role in creating a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging environment for individuals with disabilities. This is a rewarding opportunity to gain experience in community service, disability support, and recreation while making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist in planning and facilitating recreational, social, and leisure activities for program participants.
- Provide encouragement and companionship to individuals with disabilities in a group setting.
- Help ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of participants.
- Support program setup, cleanup, and organization.
- Work collaboratively with staff and other volunteers to ensure smooth program delivery.
- Communicate respectfully and effectively with participants, caregivers, and team members.

**Qualifications**
- Experience or interest in working with individuals with disabilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to engage participants in a variety of activities.
- Reliable, patient, and adaptable.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful environment.
