Together, we are stronger. **Status** FTE: 1.000 **Position Summary** The Cultural Liaison will provide expert advice and guidance on First Nations, Métis, and Inuit knowledge, culture, traditions, and pedagogy. You'll be instrumental in shaping both in-person and virtual curricula and programming, ensuring they are culturally accurate and responsive. **Job Duties/Responsibilities** - Lead in the creation of culturally responsive in-person and virtual education programming.

This includes maintaining traditional cultural material and protocol at the Bennett Centre - Empower students and families by connecting them to their school community, fostering peer connections, and sharing cultural knowledge - Collaborate with staff on events celebrating First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students - Assist students in reaching their goals related to cultural knowledge and future career and education planning - Develop and maintain ongoing conversations and connections with the community and schools to ensure students' needs are met - Support schools in developing a sense of belonging and building trusting relationships between home and school - Provide guidance on aligning "in-reach" and outreach programs with the framework of reconciliation - Help lead school events that are inclusive of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students and the community, raising awareness of traditional cultural practices - Maintain community stakeholder connections and build trusting relationships between the community and Edmonton Public Schools - Advise school staff on programming needs to best serve First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students and the community, both in-person and virtually - Advise Aboriginal Studies 30 teachers on appropriate protocols and content for First Nations, Métis, and Inuit culture **Education/Qualifications** - A diploma plus one-year post-secondary program - A minimum of three years of experience working with at-risk youth - A broad understanding of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit cultures - Strong communication and relationship-building skills - Experience partnering with post-secondary institutions - Experience with cultural event coordination **Rate of Pay** $34.79 - $44.34 per hour **Nature of Work** **Closing** Closing date for this competition is August 8, 2025.
