**Cultural Liaison - Youth Wellness Team**

Kahkiyaw Program

The Cultural Liaison role within the Kahkiyaw program is a unique position designed to assist youth aged 16-24 in their journey toward cultural learning and identity. The Cultural Liaison helps to facilitate engagement between the youth, their family, their culture, their home communities and community-based resources.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide/arrange opportunities for youth to learn about their culture.
- Work with youth to establish/maintain connection to their culture, family and community.
- Transport youth to attend ceremony as needed.
- Build relationships with Indigenous communities.
- Establish relationships with our community partners.
- Create sustainable access for youth to community resources and learning opportunities.
- Facilitate and provide teachings to their team and the youth we serve.
- Completion of contact notes and other administrative duties.
- Be willing to work some evenings and weekends when required.

**Qualifications**:

- Human Services Diploma/Degree; equivalencies will be considered.
- Knowledge in the Indigenous culture and traditions.
- Experience working with indigenous families is an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have a valid driver’s license and willing to obtain drivers abstract.
- A criminal record check with vulnerable sector and Intervention Record check, valid within a maximum of 6 months are required for employment.

Salary and Benefits
- Salary plus monthly Auto allowance
- Paid Sick and wellness days after 3-month probationary period (pro-rated)
- Extended health benefits (50/50 cost sharing) after 6 months’ employment.
- Working approximately 34.5 hours per week

Start Date: This position is to start as soon as possible.

**Job Type**: Full time

Schedule: Day shift, with possibility of evenings and weekends
