JOB PURPOSE:
The Project / Business Analyst will work closely with business stakeholders and IT teams to understand business needs, analyze current processes, and identify opportunities for improvement. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications. This role is also expected to manage projects by planning, executing, and closing projects, keeping projects on time, within budget, and scope management to stay aligned with business requirements. This includes coordinating project activities, tracking progress, managing resources, and communicating with stakeholders.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Requirements Elicitation: Conduct interviews, workshops, and document analysis to gather and document business requirements from various stakeholders.
- Requirements Analysis: Analyze and prioritize requirements, identify gaps and inconsistencies, and ensure that requirements are clear, concise, and testable.
- Project management: Provide project guidance, reporting and task management with a strong focus on change management and meeting defined timelines and project budget.
- Documentation: Create and maintain various business documents, including business requirements documents (BRD), functional specifications documents (FSD), user stories, use cases, and process maps.
- Process Improvement: Analyze current business processes and identify areas for improvement. Develop and document proposed process changes.
- Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate with business stakeholders and IT teams to ensure alignment of project goals and deliverables.
- Testing Support: Assist with the development of test cases and participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure that solutions meet business requirements.
- Data Analysis: Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform business decisions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, developers, and other team members to ensure successful project delivery.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:

- Diploma (2 year) in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Two or more of the following certifications (current or expired) are required for consideration.
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or
- Certification of Capacity in Business Analysis (CCBA)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or CAPM
- Agile Analysis Certifications (IIBA-AAC)
- Data Analysis Certifications (Google Data Analytics Professional)
- Six Sigma (Lean Six Sigma Green Belt)
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or equivalent
- Prosci Change Management Practitioner
- Other substitutions may be considered
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst and 3 years of project managing projects of 20K to 1M in size.
- Proven experience in requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation.
- Strong understanding of business analysis methodologies and techniques.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated experience in managing one or more vendor partners and holding accountabilities for all parties in project execution.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience implementing various business systems, both in gathering requirements and the implementation/support of IT systems Records Management, HRIS systems, CRM/LMS systems, Healthcare systems, along with Agile methodologies, and Cloud based systems is highly desirable.
- Assist IT Leadership in developing project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Coordinate project activities, including meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
- Track project progress and identify potential roadblocks.
- Manage project documentation, including meeting minutes, status reports, and risk assessments.
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including team members, clients, and vendors.
- Monitor project budget and expenses.
- Manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
- Ensure adherence to project management methodologies and best practices.
- Identify and mitigate project risks.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes.
- Assist in the closeout of projects, including documentation and lessons learned.
- Proven experience in a project delivery role.
- Good understanding of project management principles and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity in project management software (e.g., Asana, Jira, Microsoft Project).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented and results-driven.
- PMP or CAPM certification is a plus or demonstration of in-progress.
- Experience working with First Nations is a plus.
