**The opportunity**:
The University of Manitoba is looking for a Co-op Education Coordinator. This position will develop co-op positions in both the private and public sectors (locally, nationally and internationally), proactively markets the program to both employers and students, facilitates the placement of students and ensures that both the student and employer fulfil the program requirements to mutual satisfaction.
**The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**:
- Undergraduate degree required.
- Degree with a major in Human Resource Management, Marketing or Business preferred.
- Certificate in Human Resource Management or Career Education/Counselling would be an asset.
- Minimum 2 years previous experience administering or managing a co-op/WIL or internship program required.
- Program experience in career consulting and coaching required.
- Proven experience in the delivery of individual career planning and career development advice with experience in recruitment required.
- Established network within the private and public sector would be preferred.
- Familiarity with international student issues and work permit legislation and demonstrated ability to deal sensitively with cross cultural issues required.
- Experience developing program processes and requirements required.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Proficient in developing curriculum for modularized workshops and strong presentation skills required.
- Demonstrated technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, Adobe, and knowledge of web site maintenance. Familiarity with CRM systems (Symplicity/Orbis) is preferred. - Knowledge of, and proficiency in, using social media channels for marketing and recruitment purposes is required.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills including demonstrated ability to manage projects and event planning is required.
- Self-motivated; works well with little supervision is required. Exhibits initiative and innovative approach to program and service delivery.
- Sound decision making and problem resolution and negotiation skills with a customer service focus required.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain business relationships required.
- Ability to conduct research on the internet required.
- Strong networking, marketing and business development skills required.
- Exceptional communication skills: verbal, written required.
- Excellent organizational skills required. Detail oriented skills required.
- Program management skills: proven ability to create, lead, and deliver programs to meet unit's needs required.
- Willing to travel; locally, provincially and occasionally, nationally.
- Willing to work evenings and weekends.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
