The Council for Advancement of African Canadians in Alberta, operating as Africa Centre, is the largest pan African organization in western Canada, serving as a community hub that provides programs and services from a place of cultural awareness and competency to the families in our diverse community.

We are currently seeking an Entrepreneurial Engagement Coordinator in Winnipeg to assist entrepreneurs in developing business skills, access business funding, develop and implement their business plan(s). This is a community economic development support position with considerable opportunity to learn the dynamic field of economic development and entrepreneurship.
- Support the Program Managers in their efforts to promote and facilitate economic empowerment programs.
- Build relationships and trust with clients through open and interactive communication. This includes the administration of a client database and business directory.
- Assess client needs and assist with navigating various service provider support(s) and program(s).
- Assist with training, webinar, and workshop planning
- Provide general business guidance for business start-ups and existing entrepreneurs.
- Conduct research activities which include gathering data and analysis
- Be a strong team member in the service of communities of African descent.

- Client oriented and the ability to adapt/respond to different types of clients and situations.
- Well, organized with an ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Ability to understand, explain, and promote business opportunities.
- Computer skills including the ability to operate office tools including, Excel, and Word processing software and G-Suite at a highly proficient level.
- Engage and support clients in their entrepreneurship related needs.
- Bilingual (French and English) is an asset.

Education/Training
- A University degree or college diploma in business, economics, finance, public administration preferred.
- Experience working within a community development environment, business, and/or capacity building environment.
- Proficient in the use of current and trending information technologies.
- Familiarity with Black community and/or willingness to appreciate, understand, and regularly engage with the Black community
