We are looking for an experienced **Content Editor** to directly support one of Canada’s top celebrity chefs
**Laurent Dagenais** was born and raised in Montreal, a place where art and culture blend flawlessly with culinary experiences. Being in the scene from a very young age, it comes to no one’s surprise that he’s made a name for himself through his unique approach and creativity. Laurent has reached over 1 million followers across all channels in a short space of time and his audience love both his techniques and the food he makes. His main objective is to transmit his learnings and incentivize people to get into the kitchen more often. He is known for his fun and user-friendly recipes, and for making gourmet flavors and techniques accessible to the masses
**With a production team responsible for shooting and delivering Laurent's content, our Social Media Editor will be tasked with transforming the raw, unedited footage into long-form videos and cut-downs, ensuring they adhere to posting targets and deadlines. The content will undergo an approval stage, and edits may be requested. Please refer to the list below for a comprehensive outline of the tasks associated with this role.**

WHAT YOU'LL BE EXPECTED TO DO:_**
- Edit and assemble raw footage to create compelling and visually appealing content aligned with Laurent's aesthetics and vision.
- Creatively polish Short Form content and Long Form content across various social media platforms as requested in predetermined publishment goals.
- Generate additional content types, including resized YouTube video preview images - Thumbnails.
- Ensure that edited content meets quality standards and aligns with Laurent's branding and style. This includes audio editing, content sequencing, visual quality, transitions & text overlays as needed.
- Provide the finalized content in the required format for uploading or scheduling on social media platforms.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics of our content to identify areas for improvement and adjustments for new content.
- Stay up-to-date with algorithm changes and best practices for social media platforms.
- Optimize content for different social media platforms by adhering to their respective formatting and duration requirements.
- Work closely with Laurent to incorporate his feedback and ensure the final content aligns with his vision.
- Maintain organized versions of edited content for future reference or revisions.
**_ WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:_**
- Proven experience as a Video Editor, preferably in a similar industry, on both Short Form and Long form content.
- Proficient in video editing softwares: Adobe Suite and Premiere Pro.
- Strong portfolio showcasing video editing skills and creativity.
- Previous experience working for social media talents is considered a strong asset.
- Solid understanding of video editing principles, including pacing, timing, and storytelling.
- Understanding of social media platforms algorithms and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- While bilingualism in both French and English is not mandatory, the ability to speak French is an enormous asset.
- Computer and software knowledge, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- A strong sense of attention to detail & and organizational skills.
