**Operations Assistant**

**Job Purpose**:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations Assistant plays an integral role in ensuring the efficient and effective running of day-to-day operations within Truffles Catering. The Operations Assistant will be responsible for the packing for events, express deliveries, corporate office and events deliveries, and loading/unloading and organizing trucks. The position is also responsible for supporting inventory management, organization/maintenance of all equipment and Truffles’ facilities, general operations support and administrative duties.

The Operations Assistant will also support with on-site duties include load-in, set-up, and executive of events, as well as bartending, serving, and clean-up of events.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Act as a delivery driver for client deliveries and service pick-ups.
- Undertake packing of vans for events & unpacking after events.
- Support in the organization and cleanliness of packing and back-of-house areas.
- Work at events as server or bartender, progressing to on-site management (based on ability).
- Undertake office duties to support operations and/or planning.
- Supports all teammates in their duties and provides flexibility in being hands-on within all aspects of operations.
- Onsite training of job expectations, company policies and protocols for bartenders and servers.
- Arrange pick-up of rentals and rental vehicles.
- Support in the continuous improvement of operational processes through equipment management and efficient use of systems and practices.
- Work within any operational hands-on capacity at both Truffles Catering and Habitat Food Services at Royal Roads University as needed.
- Contributing and participating within a team of positive, high-achievers who care about their guests and the company they are representing.
- Such other and unrelated duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Employer.

**Education, Skills and Qualifications**:

- Relevant experience in hospitality or catering services
- Serving It Right and Food Safe certifications required
- Valid Class 5 drivers license and your own vehicle
- A warm, confident and customer-focused personality
- Has a deep love of F&B and the belief in its ability to motivate, inspire, educate and entertain.
- Ability to work well independently and within a team
- Ability to follow instructions effectively and work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills, work ethic and team player mentality.

**Position Details**:The house of work will vary and may be irregular, and will be those hours required to meet the responsibilities of the job. Open availability and flexibility is preferred during peak operating periods.
