**The Opportunity**:
The **Manager, Accounting** will support the VP Accounting & Controller in overseeing the technical accounting function, ensuring that the company’s financial statements are accurate, compliant with accounting standards (specifically US GAAP), and reflect the latest industry practices.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and business leadership, to provide insights into accounting matters, especially those related to SaaS revenue recognition, leases, equity transactions, and business combinations.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Accounting Management**
- Lead a small team of accountants in performing their day-to-day activities including training, performance feedback and mentoring.

**Technical Accounting Expertise**:

- Provide expert guidance on technical accounting issues, including SaaS revenue recognition (ASC 606), accounting for leases (ASC 842), business combinations (ASC 805), stock-based compensation (ASC 718), and other complex accounting matters.
- Draft accounting position papers, memos, and policies for internal and external stakeholders.

**SaaS Revenue Recognition**:

- Ensure proper implementation of ASC 606 principles, managing the timing and amount of revenue recognition across multiple contracts, subscriptions, and other revenue streams.
- Collaborate with Sales, Legal, and Customer Success teams to assess complex contract structures and ensure proper accounting treatment.

**Financial Reporting & Compliance**:

- Assist with the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Review and ensure compliance with US GAAP, including disclosure requirements, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to external auditors and stakeholders.

**Audit & External Relationships**:

- Serve as the primary point of contact for technical accounting inquiries from external auditors, ensuring a smooth and efficient audit process.
- Assist with internal controls development, documentation and compliance.

**Cross-Functional Collaboration**:

- Partner with key departments, including Legal, Sales, FP&A, and Operations, to ensure alignment on accounting treatments and compliance.
- Assist with financial modeling and analysis for corporate planning and forecasting.

**Policy & Process Improvement**:

- Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.

**Qualifications**:
**Education & Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred. Minimum of 5 years of technical accounting experience, ideally in a SaaS environment or public accounting

**Technical Skills**:

- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting matters, with a focus on SaaS revenue recognition (ASC 606 revenue recognition required), stock-based compensation, and business combinations.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and accounting software.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.

**Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills**:

- Experience in drafting clear and comprehensive accounting documentation.

**Communication & Collaboration**:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

**Attention to Detail & Time Management**:

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a high-growth environment.
- Highly organized with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
