Monday-Friday 2:45-5:45

Every other Friday 8:30-5:30

15-20 Hours Per Week

Objective:
The employee will work with an individual child who has an identified special need for a one-to-one supervision need.

**Primary Programming Responsibilities**
- provide care and supervision at all times for the child.
- demonstrate a proactive, appropriate and positive approach to behaviour management issues and conflict resolution situations.
- provide alternative options if the scheduled program activity is not working for the child.
- create an environment that encourages a quality experience for the child.
- report all concerns and/or issues regarding clientele to supervisors.
- be familiar with and operate programs according to the policies and procedures of

the agency.

**Primary Administrative Responsibilities**
- provide complete documentation regarding programming and clientele, as required (i.e. incident reports, daily reports, signing children in and out, etc.)

**Primary Knowledge and Skills**
- interact and communicate with parents, children, volunteers, fellow staff members and the community, at large, in a positive manner.
- conduct his/herself in a manner befitting the positive image that the Ponoka Youth Centre endeavours to convey in the community, whether at work or on personal time.
- be a passionate, hard worker and well-organized professional with the ability to prioritize and multitask efficiently.
- exert sound judgment and discretion, while preserving confidentiality, as outlined in the agency Oath of Confidentiality.
- have the ability to work in a team environment as a team player.
- be detail-oriented.

**Qualifications for Position**

**The applicant shall**:

- be 18 years of age or older unless approved by the Executive Director.
- have previous experience working with children with special needs or disabilities.
- successfully complete the agency screening process, including the provision of a Criminal Record Check.
- possess current first aid certification.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $18.00-$18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 20 per week

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

- Monday to Friday
