**Job Overview**:
Poseidon Ocean Systems is looking for a GM of Operations, with the capacity to develop further in our company. You will play a pivotal role within our organization, spearheading a team dedicated to the manufacturing, installation, and maintenance of revolutionary aeration, oxygenation, and sea cage systems. These systems represent not only a commitment to advancing sustainable marine farming but also to fostering healthier ocean environments, enhancing fish welfare and growth, and reducing our carbon footprint.

As a vital member of our senior management team, the GM of Operations bears the weight of overseeing our day-to-day operations and processes. Their mandate extends beyond plain oversight, encompassing the strategic implementation of initiatives geared towards enhancing operational efficiency and productivity. This entails the thorough management and optimization of company resources, monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs), and a solid dedication to driving continuous improvement initiatives.

**Strategic Responsibilities**:

- Lead the Operations team including the Production and Service Managers, Purchasing, Quality Control and Applications. Coordinate with the Chilean and International Operations Teams
- Design, plan and implement business strategies, plans and procedures
- Encourage a positive work environment and culture for all employees
- Develop and implement policies and procedures
- Conduct performance management with your team
- Maintain relationships with partners and vendors

**Tactical Responsibilities**:
**Manufacturing**:

- Update BoMs as released from Engineering. Prioritize BoM revision releases to production based on inventory on hand vs. severity/necessity of changes
- Release manufacturing orders to the production floor. Work with SMT to prioritize releases.
- Collaborate with QC Engineer regarding NCR resolution and tracking
- Audit inventory transactions. Review inventory movement reports, understand inventory variances, process and/or approve inventory adjustments as necessary.

**Purchasing**:

- Approval of long-term inventory and stocking programs; balance continuous production capabilities, with expected design revisions/iterations, and cash commitments
- Approve purchase requisitions and review purchase orders

**Customer Service**:

- Monitor incoming POs from customers, process order entry in ERP system
- Collaborate with Accounting team to review and process customer facing invoices
- Plan international logistics. Prepare commercial invoices and other customs documentation for export
- Oversee planning and risk management of the Applications team. Review and approval of project management timelines, implementation plans, offsite OHS plan
- Oversee planning and risk management of the Service team. Review and approval of site prioritization, long-term service agreements

**Safety**:

- Participate in JHSC, contribute to the OHS program. Work with Production & Service Managers to develop safe work procedures for non-routine tasks, pre-project hazard assessments, tagging (tools, work areas), hazard assessments

**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**:

- Proficiency in reading production and engineering drawings
- Outstanding leadership and management skills to effectively lead and motivate teams.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders and facilitate collaboration.

**Qualifications**:

- 5+ years as Manufacturing Engineer or GM Operations working in a manufacturing setting
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or business management with significant training and/or relevant manufacturing industry experience
- Experience in ERP systems, inventory management and production planning
- Experience in a manufacturing or mechanical parts setting, particularly with diesel engines or diesel-powered machinery is an asset.
- Experience in the Aquaculture industry locally or globally is an asset
- Must be eligible for international travel (able to maintain a valid passport)
- Valid BC Drivers’ License
