Summer Camp Coordinator

Generations is a progressive Performing Arts Centre in the heart of St. Clair West with a mission is to provide high quality, inclusive performing arts training for _all ages_, _levels,_ _bodies,_ _identities and races_. This will be our third year of running sold out, creative and highly sought after summer camps. We run specialized day camps for kids ages 4-13, with two camps running simultaneously in each studio space for 8 weeks of the summer.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and organized Summer Camp Coordinator to oversee daily operations for the 2025 summer camp season. This position involves managing in studio and off site activities, supporting and supervising the faculty, staff and volunteers, preparing and overseeing the physical studio space, and ensuring a positive and enriching experience for students and their families

**Key Responsibilities**

Oversee daily camps in the space (while onsite and offsite at our local park). Supervise and support camp faculty, staff and volunteers in whatever they require. Ensure student and faculty safety and enforce camp policies. Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and camp directors.

Communicate with parents about participant’s experiences and report concerns to Camp Directors.

Create a positive rapport with all campers

Take on any challenge or help other team members when needed, including but not limited to stepping in as a camp counsellor, as needed.

Follow and enforce all camp policies and procedures for employees and campers. This includes but is not limited to being responsible for your campers’ safety and their whereabouts at all times.

Collaborate with faculty and camp directors to address any issues or emergencies.

Maintain attendance records and daily reports and any injury/incident reports.

Maintain the physical space, ensuring it is clean, organized and accessible throughout the day.

Set up and re-set the physical space at the end of the day/week to prep for the next days activities.

Stay on top of craft/materials/digital needs of the camps and coordinate ordering/obtaining with camp directors.

**Qualifications**
- Education or related-experience in summer camps, youth programs, recreation, event planning, working with children, or a related field.
- Experience in the arts/performing arts is an asset.
- Experience with supervising others.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team player in a busy environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Experience using google drive, iCloud, Canva, and Gmail.
- Ability to accept direction, supervision and seek counsel.
- Dependable, punctual and flexible. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before camp starts).
- Successful Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, required prior to first day of work

**Canada Summer Jobs Requirements**
- Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period.
- Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
- Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 44 per week
