**POSITION TITLE**: Junior Summer Camp Counselor
- Central Neighborhood House (2 Positions)

**DEPARTMENT**:Youth

**# HRS / WEEK**:35

**CONTRACT DATES**:July 4th
- August 25th

**HOURLY RATE**:$18.00-19.00

**GENERAL DESCRIPTION**:Junior Camp Counsellors will work in consultation with the Summer Camp Coordinator and Manager, and in cooperation with other Summer Day Camp Staff to ensure a high-quality summer camp program for children 6 - 13 years of age.

**MAJOR DUTIES**:

- Assist with supervising children in the summer camp
- Provide a stimulating, fun and creative program based on children's needs with sensitivity to the diverse ethno-cultural backgrounds of each group
- Form positive relationships with the children, which includes working with the participants in each program as a group while remaining aware of each individual’s needs
- Participate in providing input into the summer camp planning
- Be a role model for the program and demonstrate superior leadership skills.
- Demonstrate ability to work in harmony with team members
- Other duties as assigned

**REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Experience (paid or volunteer) working with kids
- Be willing to be certified in CPR/First Aid

**Salary**: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
