**Job Title**: Technical Lead, Database

**Location**: G3 Head Office

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Troubleshoot complex database issues in accurate and timely manner
- Identifies, defines and assesses the properties and specifications necessary for database management systems (DBMS) to meet current and future needs of the business
- Develops and implements policies and procedures related to data security and integrity
- Develops, maintains and monitors access policies, limiting database access on a need-related basis
- Assesses current and projected database performance, and recommends changes and enhancements
- Maintain database high availability and disaster recovery procedures
- Develop best practices for monitoring, performance and operational efficiency of enterprise database
- Drafts detailed technical documentation, training documentation and guidelines for super users and support analysts
- Protects data by developing data security and restoration controls
- Establish and own the data governance process including the creation of best practices, policies, and standards
- Perform other related duties as assigned

**PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE**:

- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, computer science, or related field is preferred
- Advanced proficiency in structured query language
- Experience with database mirroring
- Experience with Reads and writes transact-SQL
- Experience with designing, configuring, relational database management systems including SQL server
- 3+ years experience managing MS SQL built in Microsoft Azure Pipelines for both structured and unstructured data sets
- Thorough understanding of database file structures/design and database control
- In depth knowledge of data architecture, cloud databases and data management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer and Dynatrace monitoring for SQL DB is an added advantage
- Broad knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies
