**Position purpose**:
Working under the Vice-Dean, Student Affairs, oversees ongoing administrative activities related to section financial, human, physical and material resources, to ensure sound management and advise senior staff in support of long-term strategic planning. Manages a team of employees responsible for providing administrative support in these areas, to ensure a productive, positive environment, while showing leadership and advising on complex issues. Represents senior management as needed on central committees with mandates related to own area of responsibility.

**Responsibilities include**:
**Budget**: Oversees administration of internally and externally-funded budgets to ensure compliance with established policy. Compares financial statements to budgets for various types of funds, to identify and address any inconsistencies. Defines section budget priorities and provides expert advice to managers on effective preparation of budgets, budget projections and shortfalls, to maximize revenue and control expenditures. Develops key performance indicators and monitors them.

**Processes and procedures**: Design and implements new work methods, procedures and processes, adjusts those already in place and monitors own team’s compliance, to continually improve operations and maximize productivity and effectiveness.

**What you bring**:
Advanced knowledge of administration, accounting, and financial and human resources normally acquired through postsecondary studies in a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

Five years’ demonstrated experience in a similar role

Supervisory experience

Experience in strategic planning

Experience in planning, analyzing and controlling budgets

Experience in analyzing reports

Experience working in a unionized environment and interpreting collective agreements

Ability to produce high-quality work under pressure while meeting strict deadlines

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Strong organizational skills
