**Instructor, Data Science and Machine Learning (Term Full-Time)**

**POSITION TYPE**: 3 Full-Time, Term Positions Available (anticipated December 2, 2024 up to May 2, 2025)

**SALARY**: $63,375 - $96,946 per annum*

**POSITION LOCATION**: Exchange District Campus (Winnipeg, MB)


**DUTIES**
Reporting to Chair, Data Science and Machine Learning, Red River College Polytechnic is looking for an instructor for topics related to Data Science and Machine Learning. Responsibilities include classroom instruction, supervision and guidance of students, student evaluation, advising of students, maintenance of student records and other professional duties related to instruction. The incumbent is also required to participate in department and College committees and assist in student orientation and graduation activities. Both Full-time and part-time opportunities are available.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- A degree or diploma in data science and machine learning or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Experience with data science, software development, machine learning or artificial intelligence
- Experience with technical documentation and technical writing, including training materials, manuals, reports, curriculum or courses
- Knowledge of User Experience and User Interface philosophies and practices
- Knowledge of IT Service Management philosophies and practices
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Knowledge or experience in program area topics such as statistics, robotics, data visualization and innovative thinking using AI
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings
- Ability to teach on campus and remotely
- Experience mentoring, leading a team, training or coaching
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

**ASSET QUALIFICATIONS**
- Experience developing curriculum and instructing at a post-secondary level
- Experience with Agile project management, project management or IT service delivery
- Experience with delivering blended (in-person and online) instruction
- Certifications or training in a strongly related field to software development or data science and machine learning
- Experience with delivering courses through an LMS (Learning Management System)
- Certificate in Teaching for Learning or Adult Education

**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
- Instructors are required to complete the Teaching for Learning (TFL) in Applied Education program or have previously completed the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)
- This position may be required to work throughout the academic year including the summer months
- May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses
