Global Drain Technologies, doing business as FoodSafe Drains, SlotDrain Systems, and Landscape Drains, is a leading manufacturer of engineered drainage systems for food and beverage manufacturers, commercial & industrial facilities, and urban landscape projects. **About the job** Global Drain Technologies is hiring a full time Shipping Lead Hand to join the Shipping and Receiving team. **Key Responsibilities** - In partnership with the Production Manager, ensures the shipping team is meeting on time delivery targets by due dates; - Lead the coordination of shipping department daily activities; - Empower, motivate and oversee the performance of the shipping team; - Provide guidance to the assigned team in a manner consistent with organization values, policies and practices; - Attends various meetings to provide production updates; - Monitor the Work Center and arrange work orders to be processed accordingly; - Process shipment work orders and inspect completed orders, update ERP; - Liaison between management, carriers and shipping customers; - Evaluate carrier performance and resolve issues with orders and logistics; - Conduct full-cycle of all incoming material (quantity and quality) and store, label and organize materials in designated areas; - Participate in cycle count activities and yearly physical inventories; - Must wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) (e.i. Safety glasses etc.); - Must have CSA approved safety shoes in good condition; - Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Production Manager. **What you bring** - Grade 12 or equivalent; - A combination of education and experience may be considered; - Five (5) years’ experience in shipping and receiving; - Experience and knowledge of logistics and shipping documentation; - Knowledge of shipping industry regulations; - Proficient with manufacturing drawing interpretation; - Ability to thrive in a fast paced evolving, high-volume environment; - Ability to work effectively with individuals, groups and as part of a team; - Strong communication skills including verbal and written; - Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and think strategically; - Results oriented with ability to multitask and meet deadlines; - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; - Proven ability to avoid compromising safety for speed, production, etc.; - Strong proficiency with Google and/or MS Office and the ability to learn new computer systems.
