Our mission is to support families affected by schizophrenia and other serious mental illness in British Columbia through education advocacy and research. BCSS was founded in 1982 and is a charitable society with a provincial office located in Vancouver, BC. The BCSS Marketing Coordinator position includes a comprehensive benefit package that includes healthcare, dental, RRSP matching, and a generous allotment of paid sick days and vacation time. This is a primarily remote position, requiring visits to the provincial office in Vancouver for special events, meetings, and site visits. **Marketing Coordinator Position Summary** The Marketing Coordinator is an integral part of the Communications and Marketing team. The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for creating social media content for BCSS and BCSS Youth and helping with the digital design of promotional materials. They will work closely with the Communications and Marketing Manager and Communications Coordinator to support the growth and evolution of BCSS Communications and Marketing portfolio, and the development of BCSS, BCSS Youth, and the BCSS Foundation. The Communications and Marketing team engages with BCSS stakeholders (i.e., families, volunteers, board members, staff, health authorities, government officials, etc.) to ensure BCSS messaging reaches new audiences. Position reports to the Communications and Marketing Manager **Responsibilities**: **KEY DUTIES** - Coordinate and develop a digital communication plan to support BCSS in meeting its strategic and communication goals, including an evaluation process for tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) - Create and implement a social media strategy to promote and engage people with BCSS and BCSS Youth programs, fundraising, advocacy, research, and mental health literacy initiatives, with the support and assistance of the marketing communications team - Manage, develop, and deploy content across all platforms, including digital platforms (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Google Ads, Mailchimp, etc.) - Extend the scope and impact of the BCSS and BCSS Youth digital platforms within the mental health community, including with BCSS boards, health authorities, organizations, and government ministries - Manage, update, and maintain all websites related to BC Schizophrenia Society, including BCSS Youth and the BC Schizophrenia Society Foundation - Build and maintain strong relationships with the provincial team and community partners. - Identify areas of growth especially the website and social media (e.g., engaging new people or education) - Share and promote BC Partners materials on all digital platforms - Respond to inquiries through social media channels in a timely manner - Ensure brand standards and BCSS identity are maintained across all communication and marketing with BCSS, BCSS Youth and BCSS Foundation - Support the regional BCSS staff with communications and promotions using Canva and social media - Support the promotion of the BCSS podcast “Look Again: Mental Illness Re-Examined." - Assist with the creation of content for BC Partners initiatives - Support the BCSS Events Coordinator in the creation of the messaging, materials, and promotional plan for provincial events - Source graphics for multiple audiences - Develop and update website directory listings, as needed **OTHER** - Follow all BCSS policies and procedures to ensure safety and risk management - Other applicable duties as requested by the executive team - Expected to attend the AGM and any other societal or staff meetings as required **Requirements**: - 2-5 years of digital marketing, graphic design, social media management, content creation, or other related experience - Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field (marketing, communications, digital marketing, graphic design, etc.) - Experience and education in creating content for diverse audiences and making complex topics understandable to a larger group would be an asset. - Experience with the use of social media and project management tools - Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Canva, and Zoom - Comfortable using project management software for tracking tasks, social media strategy, and CRM systems **Core Competencies**: - Experience and demonstrated strength with digital design using Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud products - Strong writing and editing skills with an attention to detail - Experience with video content creation an asset - Ability to take initiative and be creative - Excellent administrative and organizational skills - Demon
