- The Milton Cemetery Company is located in Milton, Ontario, a fast growing community located in the heart of the Region of Halton, Ontario. The Company has been managed by a Volunteer Board of Directors since 1880, who are dedicated to serving their community, expanding acreage as needed, securing future financial aspects and keeping up with the times by establishing a crematorium at Evergreen in partnership The
Independent Cremation Group.
Evergreen Cemetery had its first burial in 1881. This progressive Board of Directors realized that the original acreage would not be sufficient with the growth taking place in
Milton. The future South Glen Cemetery property has become part of their exciting future planning. We pride ourselves on providing families and the community at large with a park like landscape. Many visit their families who are at rest while others walk, jog or just sit and enjoy the quiet.
**Job Position**:
We are looking to fill this position with a person who is self-motivated, has a compassion for serving families, able to prioritize and a team player. You must provide a superb level of customer service through excellent interpersonal communication skills as you are the individual who our clients contact first.
- Provide information to families by discussing cemetery options, completion of sales and the required paperwork
- Maintain associated files, databases both electronic and hard copy by keeping up to date accurate records
- Provide administrative support to the Board of Directors and Ground Staff, meeting deadlines in a timely and efficient manner.
- Insure all license fees and associated memberships are up to date
- Become familiar & follow all Cemetery By-Laws and Cemetery Price List
- Interact with funeral homes, funeral directors and monument dealers on a daily basis
- Interact with the Cemetery Grounds Superintendent on a daily basis
- Interact with various vendors and suppliers
- Complete weekly payroll - familiar with ADP
- Work hrs. mainly Mon - Fri. with the occasional Sat. as required for appointments
- Able to deal with both emotional and conflict situations
- Other duties as may be required
**Required Qualifications**:
- MS Office - word, excel, outlook, & quick books an asset
- Minimum 2 years reception/office experience,
- Professional appearance and demeanour
- Experience in the Bereavement industry an asset.
- References
- Familiar with Web Site update data entry
- Valid Ontario drivers license and a personal vehicle
