Located in the heart of Niagara’s wine country, the Bench brewery is located on the site of the historic Maple Grove Public School in Beamsville, Ontario. Our brewery is a place for our guests to relax, learn, and experience the craft of brewing beer.
- The Bench Brewing campus sits across eight beautiful acres of farmland and features a 50hL brewing system, a tap and tasting room, a beer garden, a ‘funk house’ for our wild ale and barrel fermentation program, and our very own hops field.
- Our property houses a beautiful catholic church built in 1938 that has been converted to the Fieldstone at Bench facility. It has an indoor seating capacity of approximately 70 guests and during the warmer seasons the events lawn can seat up to 225 guests.
- Bench is a certified B Corporation and strives to be a leader in sustainability, having achieved a zero-wastewater footprint and Carbon Neutral certification by Radicle Climate Smart.**The Role**:
Reporting to the General Manager, the primary role of the Marketing Manager is to be the project manager for all marketing initiatives related to the commercial trade, our taproom and brewery, as well as our Fieldstone event venue. The Marketing Manager will also work with our brewing team and serve as project manager to bring new innovation products to market. This role will also oversee all digital platforms, including the Bench and Fieldstone websites and all social media accounts.**Responsibilities**:

- Lead and manage our in-house Graphic Designer in developing new packaging design and marketing tools like posters, banners, and other promotional materials.
- Collaborate with our Digital & Social Media Manager to develop strong content and communication calendars for Bench and Fieldstone and support with all elements of digital community engagement.
- Utilizing our database systems (like MailChimp and HubSpot), lead the development and delivery of all B2B and B2C newsletters.
- Partner with the Taproom & Hospitality team for on-site consumer loyalty-building initiatives like our Entrenched in Bench beer club, executing events and festivals, and driving sales through our retail and ecommerce business.
- Working closely with our Production and Operations teams, serve as the key project manager when building our innovation pipeline and new product release schedules from research and development through to commercial launch. This includes supporting supplier relationships and adhering to project budgets. - Support the development and lead the execution of our annual brand plans, including any required budget management.- Support the sales team in the development of trade marketing tools and trade programs that effectively bring our brand to life in both the retail and on-premise channels.
- Serving as project manager to support our sponsorships, membership associations, charitable organizations, and other community outreach initiatives.
- Support our strategic partnership with Henderson Brewing in finding new, collaborative ways of working together and growing broth brands.
- Driving in-house expertise on the evolving Canadian legal and regulatory landscape as governed by the provincial liquor boards and the provincial alcohol and gaming commissions. This includes a thorough understanding of all mandatory packaging requirements and considerations for all consumer-facing communications.

**Qualifications**:

- A post-secondary degree, in marketing, advertising, business, or related field.
- 3-5 years of direct and progressive work experience in a marketing capacity.
- Excellent understanding of consumer marketing concepts. - Both an analytical and creative approach to building brands in a competitive landscape.- Experience in the consumer-packaged goods industry. Alcoholic beverage experience is a strong asset.
- Demonstrated success in launching new products and bringing them to market in a commercial retail environment.
- Exceptional project management skills. Project management certification and/or expertise with project management systems considered a strong asset.
- A proven problem solver with the ability to manage multiple project simultaneously. Excellent planning and organizational skills are vital.
- Demonstrated success in the digital space - social media, digital advertising, and content development are core pillars of our marketing efforts.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to ‘tell the story’ insightfully and effectively. Presenting plans and pitching new ideas to cross-functional stakeholders (both formally and informally) are key elements of the role.
- Familiarity with electronic marketing and communication platforms (MailChimp, HubSpot). Basic knowledge of website design also desirable.
