In March 2020, Bench Brewing acquired the Niagara Cider Company whose goal is to craft dry, flavourful, and balanced ciders using the bounty of all the fruits that Niagara and Ontario have to offer. Niagara Cider has quickly become a top selling Ontario Craft Cider brand as well as winning multiple awards for their family of ciders.
**The Role**
Reporting to the Director of Brewing & Beverage Operations, the Planning & Procurement Manager oversees demand planning, production planning and all procurement for brewing & beverage operations.
**Responsibilities**
Manage direct report, including:
- Support in negotiations with suppliers to get the best price
- Support to ensure all required materials are on site at the brewery prior for brewing and packaging activities
- Support to ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained
- Support coordinating materials movements between brewery & off-site warehouse with Logistics Manager
- Demand planning for beer & beverage production utilizing historical sales data, inventory levels and sales forecasts to ensure fresh beer in inventory/market
- Detailed production planning outlining brands, tanks, packaging splits to ensure demand plan is met and communicating updates as often as required.
- Work with the Head Brewer, Lab Manager and Packaging Manager to ensure quality is maintained and labour and equipment are utilized effectively.
- Perform analysis on planning and procurement activities to determine cost-savings opportunities
- Support Finance with preparation of ROC for contract brew invoicing
- Provide commercial team with occasional forecasting and analytic support as required
- Support ERP activities, including training new users, developing new reports etc.
**Qualifications**
- 1-3 years of experience in a planning or procurement environment working with beer or similar fast-moving consumer goods
- Post-secondary degree in business, supply chain management, procurement management or analytics
- People management experience
- Proven organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage deadlines
- Experience with Odoo, Netsuite or other ERP systems
- Superior knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables and V-lookups)
- Ability to work complex data systems and perform detailed analysis is considered an asset
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Ability to work collaboratively cross-departmentally
