Department: Middle/High School

Position Group: Staff

Reports To: Director of Student Life & Wellbeing

Status: 37.5 hours a week for the duration of the school year (August-June)

Start Date October 2025
- **Job Purpose**:_

**Specific responsibilities include**:

- Supervision**: Actively monitor students in various school areas, including hallways, lunchrooms, locker rooms, and outdoor spaces.
- Structured activities—responsible for organizing structured activities for students during breaks.
- Behavior Management: Enforce school rules and codes of conduct consistently and fairly. Address behavioral issues promptly and appropriately, escalating serious incidents to school administrators as needed.
- Safety & Security: Be vigilant in identifying and reporting safety hazards or security concerns. Respond to minor emergencies and provide basic first aid if necessary.
- Conflict Resolution: Mediate student disputes and teach positive communication and problem-solving skills.
- Positive Role Model: Serve as a positive influence, promoting respect, kindness, and personal responsibility among students.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, administrators, and other staff to support school-wide initiatives and student well-being.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of student incidents, actions taken, and other relevant information.

**Qualifications**:

- DEC (Diploma of College Studies) in a related field such as student supervision, community recreation, or a similar program.
- Previous experience working with middle or high school students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and level-headed in challenging situations.
- Knowledge of basic behavior management techniques.
- CPR/First Aid certification is preferred, or the willingness to obtain it.
- Bilingualism in English and French is required.
