Having been in the construction industry for over 40 years, we are a well-established electromechanical engineering and contracting company serving the industrial, commercial, and institutional sectors of the construction industry in Greater Toronto (GTA).

Our company is undergoing rapid growth and we are seeking a self-driven, talented general manager of the administration who will report to the Company President and has the knowledge, expertise, and aspirations for advancement to perform the following responsibilities:

- Implementing the planning, organization, and administrative control of the construction activities directed by the company
- Developing and implementing the company’s financial and administrative policies and procedures
- Supporting the construction and engineering department to secure the appropriate financial, human, and material resources
- Controlling and overseeing any potential risks and taking appropriate actions for mitigation and monitoring budget feasibility
- Review and coordinate with Accounts to identify major financial issues and risks and propose remedies
- Review accounts receivable and accounts payable to ensure proper working capital management and maintenance of financial covenants, and approve invoices and billings as they relate to the administration department
- Review monthly financial reports as they relate to administration activities and provide comments, observations, and directives as required
- Provide reporting and budgeting as required by Senior Management, including the preparation of various financial analyses together with the Accounts department
- Ensure company insurance and bonding requirements for the company and individual projects are met
- Human resource management includes maintaining records of employment and employee health and safety certification records on an ongoing basis; dealing with employee issues as they arise with designated health and safety representative
- Maintain all company certifications and prequalifications
- Maintain union relations and adhere to collective agreements on behalf of the company
- Maintain relationships with banks, insurance companies, and financial institutions which provide services to the company
- Oversee, control, and direct the company’s office and facilities management
- Develop, control, and maintain company administrative records
- Other administrative functions as directed by the company
- Ensure confidentiality of company information.

**Desired Skills and Experience**

Must be a capable and organized leader with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent verbal and communication skills are also required.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in upper-level management in construction and contracting or related fields
- Bachelor’s Degree in business administration with accounting and/or finance specialization - MBA with a technical degree (engineering) an asset
- Understanding of commercial insurance and bonding policies
- Experience with Jonas Construction accounting software is a must
- Highly skilled in using the Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to conceptualize systems for greater company efficiency
- Excellent interpersonal skills, organization skills, attention to detail, and thoroughness in work performed.

Salary commensurate with experience.
