The Resident Care Coordinator, under the direction of the Assistant Director of Care, is responsible for auditing, teaching, and supporting the Personal Support Worker (PSW) team to ensure compliance with the Fixing Long Term Care Homes Act and Regulations and Shepherd Village policies and procedures; identifies quality improvement opportunities and participates in improvement activities; assists with providing supervision of PSW's and acts as a coach and mentor.

**Duties**:

- Coordinates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure all aspects of resident care are met.
- On-going delivery of customer service with staff, residents, families and the general public
- Provides direction to the PSW team in all aspects of resident care.
- Assists with orienting new PSW employees and agency staff to the homes' systems and policies.
- Monitors and participates in unit meetings and care plan rounds.
- Promotes the philosophies of Person-Centered Care, teamwork and a healthy work environment.
- Conducts regular audits through PCC to ensure compliance with documentation standards, internal policies and procedures and legislative requirements.
- Provides education and training to staff when there are changes in practices.
- A degree or diploma in a health services program, or PSW certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Training in P.I.E.C.E.S and/or GPA
- Training in Nursing Restorative Care
- Previous experience in a long-term care setting or working with seniors.
- Previous supervisor experience.
