**Position Objective**:
Reporting to the HR Director, the HR Generalist will play a crucial role in supporting our organization's growth and success. They will help support the business in various facets of Human Resources, such as but not limited to the areas of recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and more.
This position is an onsite role.
**As a team member, you can expect to**:
- **Recruiting**_
- Own the offer letter process.
- Act as the liaison between the hiring manager and staffing agency in cases where an agency has been engaged to assist with a hire or in cases where we are bringing on temporary workers.
- **Onboarding**_
- Prepare and send onboarding paperwork to new hires and ensure the same is returned prior to the start date and send internal notification regarding all new hires to the company once all paperwork and checks are complete.
- Create employment files for new hires. Use checklist to ensure files are complete and provide prepared files to for payroll purposes.
- Make the necessary arrangements to ensure new hires receive the proper uniform packages, where applicable.
- Create online profile for new hires and assign the applicable training. Follow-up with new hires and hiring manager, as required to ensure training is completed within the first two weeks of employment.
- Track and ensure 3 Month Probationary Reviews are completed, are of good quality, and returned within one week of the completion of the end of the probationary period. Identify and communicate to the HR Manager any areas or items of concerns noted on the reviews.
- Working with the IT vendor for all onboarding (and offboarding) needs.
- **Benefits & Pension**_
- Benefits administration - process additions, changes, and terminations as they occur.
- **Policy & Procedures**_
- Assist managers and team members with the interpretation and administration of established policies and procedures.
- Make recommendations for revisions to current policies and procedures as well as recommendations for new policies and procedures.
- Work with leaders on first level employee relations issues, such as attendance, punctuality, etc.
- **Dayforce HRIS & IT**_
- Be the superuser in the HRIS system.
- Update/maintain/data enter all team member related information.
- Run quarterly/monthly reports (i.e. sick, vacation, departures,)
- Involved on all new Dayforce module implementation, including defining workflows, security access, etc.
- Partnering with IT vendor for key approvals and needs for employees.
- Liaise with Payroll and IT on employee changes, new hires and terminations.
- **Tracking & Information Maintenance**_
- Prepare and distribute quarterly vacation report.
- Compile and distribute communication to acknowledge and congratulate recipients of the Monthly Employee Recognition Programs.
- Track and administer milestone awards.
- Communication announcements

**What we are looking for**:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in an HR generalist role, preferably within the manufacturing industry
- Post-Secondary degree, with a specialization in business or HR would be ideal, completion of CHRP or in progress is an asset
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ATS, HRIS, Dayforce systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively communicate at all levels within an organization
- Sound decision making capability
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
- Motivated individual with proven initiative
- Strong attention to detail
- Familiarity with employment law in Ontario and other area of regulations (Employment Standards Act, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, and Human Rights legislation)
- Experience with WSIB, and Occupational Health & Safety administration and compliance
- Ability to work effectively as a part of a team as well as independently
- Efficient in HRIS (Dayforce preferred), MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
