Respite Support Worker

If you are passionate about providing quality care to individuals in need, we invite you to join our team as a Respite Support Worker. This position offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others while gaining valuable experience in the healthcare and Disability Services field.

Please note that this position offers flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Staff choose their availability and are matched with applicable clients.

A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are also preferred.

**Duties**:

- Provide respite care services to individuals between the ages of 2-17 years old
- Assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Plan activities based on the clients interests and abilities

**Skills**:*experience preferred but not required
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and empathetic nature towards individuals in need of care
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for client privacy
