**Compensation**: Group 8 (Moveup 378)

**Position Summary**

Under the general direction of the Chief Technology Officer, the Systems Administrator II is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and evaluating AMS cloud and on-premises systems; installs, configures, and maintains both physical and virtual computer servers; Assists in planning, coordinating, and implementing network security measures in order to protect data, software, and hardware.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Support the development of enterprise architectures including Azure Public Cloud
- Support the technologies for continuous build, integration, and deployment of software into a cloud provider environment
- Assist in coordinating special projects including network related wiring plans, and system installation, maintenance and problem solving
- Assist in providing network and remote connectivity hardware/software support
- Analyze and troubleshoot the system logs and track the nature and resolution of problems
- Monitor usage to ensure security of data and access privileges
- Establish and maintain user accounts, profiles, file sharing, access privileges and security
- Research, analyze, monitor, troubleshoot and resolve server and data network problems
- Develop, maintain and implement system support, and archiving procedures
- Keep current regarding new hardware/software products for system enhancements
- Perform scheduled network tasks, monitoring network servers and provide internet and intranet user support
- Gather data pertaining to customer needs, and use the information to identify, predict, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements
- Prepare clear and concise written communications
- Prioritize requests, organize, schedule, and coordinate a variety of projects and ensure the best system practices are being used
- Train IT Staff
- Work overtime, shifts, weekends and statutory holidays as required
- Perform other duties as required

**Qualifications and Experience**
- University degree from an accredited University
- Five years of experience in network/system support including at least two years at the enterprise management level
- Microsoft and/or other industry recognized network/system administration certification(s) is an asset
- Experience in local area networks management and administration including system configuration, setup, troubleshooting and implementation
- Experience in installing and maintaining Windows Servers in a domain environment (Active Directory)
- Experience in administering financial systems including Microsoft Dynamics GP and Management Reporter
- Experience with DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, SMTP, NAT, and other LAN/WAN topologies, transports, and routing is preferred
- Working knowledge of VMWare, Microsoft 365, SharePoint and disaster recovery systems
- Knowledge of SQL Server and cloud-based databases
- Effective project management
- Informed of current industry trends and best practices
- Interest in acquiring new skills via hands on training, classroom training, and self-directed learning
- Take initiative to creatively resolve problems, recommend solutions, and work within the priorities of the department and organization
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Excellent customer services skills
- Valid BC driver’s license and access to a vehicle
