**Job Summary**

The HR Assistant will be responsible for providing transactional HR support to the HR Manager, North America. He or she will assist with the development and implementation of policy, recruitment, orientation and training, health and safety and other areas as directed. Other duties involve maintaining accurate, up-to-date HR filing systems and personnel records.

**Job Duties**:
You will be responsible for the following:

- Supporting the HR Manager of North America with all transactional HR administration functions.
- Assisting in the recruitment and selection processes.
- Researching cost-effective recruitment methods.
- Assisting with the review and development of policy and procedures.
- Assisting the HR Manager with training program development.
- Providing assistance with regard to organizational research and succession planning.
- Assisting with regular research and compliance initiatives regarding Human Resources issues.
- Organizing, maintaining, filing and coordinating office records and files in their proper locations.
- Providing recruitment and onboarding support to hiring managers.
- Preparing employment contracts.
- Enrolling staff in their training courses.
- Sending onboarding documents to new employees.
- Attending the monthly health and safety meetings and preparing the agenda and minutes.
- Updating the referral and training spreadsheet regularly.
- Helping with the organization of the long service award program.
- Assisting with market wage survey analysis.
- Performing other duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Have at least 3 months to one year of HR experience.
- University Degree or diploma in Human Resources.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment is essential to this role.
- Be detail-oriented, able to juggle multiple requests under pressure, and effectively prioritize tasks at hand to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability t act with tact, good judgment, and discretion; maintaining confidentiality.
- Must have a happy to” and team mentality.
