Video Producer

**Description**: **The Role** Before we start in earnest, we'd like you to watch a couple of videos. Take your time - the job ad will still be here when you're done. Back? Excellent. With that out of the way, here's the pitch: do you want to spend the rest of your career clocking hours on product b-roll and corporate training videos? Or do you dream of creating video content that tells immersive stories to an online following of millions? Our brand promise is simple: "It's not a product. It's a culture." That's a lot more than a catchphrase - it's core to everything we do. Whether we're sending content creators birthday cakes with baked-in phones, roasting beggars on social media, nuking PETA, or creating a mini-documentary of a customer getting our logo tattooed on their leg, we're in the business of building a brand experience first, and delivering (world-class) products second. In return, we’ve amassed a cult. That, and access to a lot of wallets. We won't lie: it's a pretty sweet deal. Over the years, our audience has come to expect a certain standard of storytelling and polish on the video content that represents our compelling experiences. To continue pushing this standard upwards, we require a Video Producer who gets it - someone who understands online culture and our place within it, while possessing the technical aptitudes in filming and editing to bring our criminally insane ideas to life. With end-to-end involvement in both ideation and production of content, our Video Producer understands the "why" just as well as they understand the "how". Above all else, they're maniacally focused on a single objective: evolve the cult of dbrand. If that doesn't sound like your kind of job, save us all some time and close the tab. This job isn't right for you. If, on the other hand, you're the sort of creative and motivated individual that we're looking for - with experience behind both the camera and in the editing bay - keep reading. Those corporate training videos can wait. **The Characteristics**: - **Agile**: You’re nimble. You’re adaptable. You thrive in an environment where priorities can change in an instant. - **Analytical**: Your decisions are driven by only one thing: data. You continue to master all the tools necessary to surface insights. - **Collaborative**: You enjoy purposeful meetings. You value the contributions and perspectives of your CEO as much as those of your colleagues. - **Curious**: You’re eager to learn new concepts and master new skills. There’s no useless tool in your arsenal. - **Disciplined**: You never allow the details to slip, understanding that every bit of minutiae forms the bigger picture. - **Enthusiastic**: You exhibit a contagious passion for storytelling. - **Innovative**: You develop new approaches to complex problems. - **Perfectionist**: You persist until the smallest detail has been cut and sewn. Knows nothing less than 100%. - **Persistent**: You’ve never failed. You’ve only experienced speed bumps on your path to success. - **Reliable**: You live up to both verbal and written agreements. You can be trusted to work effectively, without oversight. **The Responsibilities and Qualifications**: In order to make a positive impact as part of our team, your focus in this role will be to: - Absorb and translate brand and product objectives into commercialized content that can then be published with a unique approach to each social media platform. - Script, storyboard, budget, allocate resources, set deadlines, and select optimal forms of media for projects. - Plan video shoots, scout, select, and reserve shoot locations and resources. - Develop and follow production schedules. - Producing video content: - Selecting program format for final output. - Shooting. - Importing / organizing raw media. - Post-production to create compelling stories out of raw footage and sound files. - Creating and inserting static and motion graphics. - Colour correction / grading of footage. - Adding music / voice-over / creative sound design (or collaborating with a Sound Designer). - Media management and archiving project media. - Adapting cuts for different platforms / aspect ratios (i.e. cut-downs). - Evaluate analytics with the Marketing team and adjust content accordingly. - Establish a pipeline for cold audience acquisition on core product categories. - Maximize opportunity for creative content on new drop activations. If you find a box you can’t check, stop reading and look for a company who demands less from a Video Content Creator. - A Bachelor's Degree in Video, Art, Film, or equivalent experience. - A master of storytelling through video. - Knowledge of Codecs / Video Mastery techniques - Experience with professional cameras or prosumer camcorders, various HD formats, pre-production / planning, studio and field production, lighting / grip, and photography. - Experience with sync sound recording, including both single and double system recording, slating,
