**Description**

KEY JOB ELEMENTS:

- Liaise with WSIB and health care practitioners to ensure effective claims management
- Review and analyze incident investigation reports, assess claims for initial entitlement and complete and file Employer Reports of Injury
- Manage workplace injury claims with a focus on minimizing time loss and claim costs
- Facilitate Return to Work/Remain at Work plans with regards to claims and accommodation and monitor/adjust as required.
- Review accident cost statements and make recommendations for improvements
- Develop & report monthly Company Health and Safety metrics to onsite teams and corporate based reporting systems
- Assist in the development and execution of Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems (ISO 14001, ISO45001) and best practices
- Perform audits and safety inspections in the workplace
- Participate in incident investigations including root cause analysis identification and corrective action plans
- Develop recommendations for appropriate risk mitigation measures to management including ergonomics
- Develop internal Environmental, Health and Safety communications
- Promote and lead various safety and wellness initiatives
- Develop, coordinate and conduct EHS training programs
- Coordinate eyeglass/work boot program

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- University degree/college diploma in a relevant discipline (i.e. Health & Safety, Kinesiology)
- Minimum 3-5 years in an Environmental Health & Safety role within a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of claims management and WSIB policies and procedures
- Demonstrated understanding of environmental, health and safety regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate across functional lines and at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in matters involving personnel issues in the workplace
- Strong planning and time management skills; ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- JHSC Certification training
- Experience Developing & Delivering Training with focus on Adult Learning Techniques
- Certification in Disability Management
- Proficiency in Parklane
