We're Hiring: Environmental Specialist – London, ON
One of our clients in the
manufacturing industry
is actively seeking an
Environmental Specialist
to oversee and enhance their plant's Environmental Management System, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous environmental perform
Position Summary:
As the Environmental Specialist, you will manage audits, provide training, support incident investigations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure environmental excellence across the site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, maintain, and improve the site's Environmental Management System (EMS)
- Coordinate internal and external audits, inspections, and certification activities
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, reporting, and waste management programs
- Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Provide environmental training and guidance to employees and contractors
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support Health & Safety initiatives
Education & Experience:
- Post-secondary education in
Environmental Science, Engineering, Technology, Sustainability
, or related field - Minimum
5 years of experience
in a similar environmental role - Certified or actively pursuing
Environmental Management System Lead Auditor
designation - Strong knowledge of provincial and federal environmental regulations
- Health & Safety experience or certification is an asset
Skills & Competencies:
- Advanced
Microsoft Office
skills, especially Excel - Strong written and verbal communication
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and in a team
- Professional, collaborative, and committed to continuous improvement
