We are searching for a Recreation and Wellness Manager to join our Parkland on the Glen team based in Mississauga, Ontario.

About the Opportunity

1 year maternity year coverage
Provides leadership and oversight to all operational elements of the Recreation and Wellness department to ensure compliance to brand standards, policies, procedures, and applicable legislation
Supervises, directs, and evaluates the work of the Recreation and Wellness team
Oversees the full recruitment process of Recreation and Wellness team members
Ensures new team members are orientated and trained on all departmental standards
Manages the professional development of the team
Monitors performance and provides coaching
Completes performance and development discussion for team members
Holds regular departmental meetings and team talks
Adheres to both provincial and Shannex food safety standards and holds team to the same standards
Takes every reasonable precaution in all circumstances to ensure the health and safety of team members and all others in the workplace, including but not limited to, providing supervision, training, information, and equipment needed for employees to do their job safely
Maintains safety and sanitation in the department to meet legislative / organizational standards

About You

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:
Minimum of five (5) years of people leadership experience in a recreation or wellness setting
Experience in programming and planning for seniors in a recreational environment
Degree in Recreation or other related disciplines including Kinesiology, Personal Fitness Instruction, Music Therapy, Gerontology or Event Planning
Current Food Safety Certification
Current Emergency First Aid and CPR Certification
Valid Class 4 Driver’s License
Training in Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias
