The team at Troubled Monk is passionate about making craft beverages and sharing those beverages with our community. We are looking for someone to share that passion We are hiring a lab technician to test our beverages to ensure we maintain our quality standards in all products that we produce.

This employee is responsible for the microbial and sensory quality, stability, and safety of the products produced by Troubled Monk.

Roles and Responsibilities include:

- Monitor fermented products by way of collecting and testing product samples before, during and after fermentation, cellaring and packaging, using sensory and microbiology laboratory techniques.
- Monitoring manufactured products by way of using sensory and microbiology laboratory techniques to assure the quality of the raw ingredients, final product, and packaging.
- Analyzing and interpreting data collected
- Reporting results
- Investigating discrepancies and quality concerns
- Participating in the revision and development of existing, or new products

**Requirements**:

- Must work well both independently and in a team environment
- Must be able to adapt well in a busy, fast paced work environment
- Experience in a lab setting is a huge asset
- Experience in the craft beverage industry is an asset, but not required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

This is a casual part time position. There will be approximately 20 hours a week. The work can be completed on weekends and evenings - there is a lot of flexibility regarding when the testing takes place.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: $18.00-$24.00 per hour
