With operations across Canada and United States, Bento brings together a dynamic team of people with diverse backgrounds, experience, and talent, to create an exceptional guest experience. **Locations and hours** - Ontario Food Factory: 25 Sims Crescent, Richmond Hill, ON L4B 1K9 | Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5:30 ppm **Responsibilities**: Coordinate Bento Sushi Food Safety and Regulatory compliance and audit activities to ensure that the Bento Sushi objectives for food safety and regulatory mandates and compliance meet or exceed Regulatory Agency’s requirements.- Manages the sushi Food Safety program for both USA and Canada; complete HACCP documents for new products, review HACCP verification documents from Operations, and conduct quarterly HACCP training to all Bento Sushi Associates. - Conduct yearly review and update of HACCP document for all products. - Conduct/ oversee monthly in-house HACCP and GMP audits; and assure that corrective actions are followed through. - Coordinate the set up, preparation and participation in all third-party audits. Maintain professional interaction with all third-party auditors and regulatory agencies. Also assist in follow up of corrective actions from the audit findings. - Periodically participates in Quality Assurance pre-operational inspections, contribute updated information on sanitation programs, chemicals, and suppliers to ensure verification of the sanitation program. - Oversees all pest control activities, including overseeing the activities of the Pest Control Provider. - Follow Bento Sushi food safety policies and company policies, procedures and standards for safety, GMP’s and HACCP). - Enter and analyze data to present in a professional and useful format to the appropriate personnel. - Perform any special assignments as shall be assigned by Senior Director of Quality Assurance. **Qualifications**: - BS degree in Food Science or Food Technology, Chemistry, any Biological Sciences or related area from an accredited college or university. - 3 to 5 years of relevant work experiences in food-manufacturing environment, at least 2 of which is in Quality Assurance or Operations. - HACCP programs and food safety regulations. - Knowledge of CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) and other Regulatory Standards. - Manufacturing concepts and techniques. - CIP sanitation programs. - Food safety audit concepts and techniques. - Food processing concepts and techniques. - Product recovery systems. - PC word processing/spreadsheet software. - Analyze and resolve complex problems - Interpret food safety problems and anomalies and identify appropriate solutions - Communicate and coordinate effectively with internal and external customers verbally and in writing - Prepare a variety of administrative and technical documents and reports - Read and process written information with a high degree of accuracy - Train employees in HACCP and sanitation processes - Work effectively in a general business environment, with a focus on high levels of quality and leadership. **Why you should join our team**: - Full-Time starting immediately at **$23.00/hour**. - Power of Collaboration: Live our core values - "Own it", "Care about it", "Make it exceptional", and "Win together" - as we work together to create better food for everyone, the Japanese way. - Competitive Rewards: Upon meeting eligibility criteria reap the benefits of a comprehensive compensation package with Health services spending account (HSSA), life insurance, and travel insurance benefits at no cost to you and retirement plans that recognize your outstanding contribution. - Ignite Your Potential: Fuel your growth with extensive training and opportunities for career advancement, empowering you to unleash your full potential. - Champion Diversity and Inclusion: We proudly celebrate and champion employment equity, diversity, and inclusion through our Affinity Committee, ensuring that every voice is empowered and heard. - Lead the Sustainability Revolution: As part of our commitment to ESG, our Sustainability Committee drives our environmental initiatives and champions sustainable practices.
