Business Development Manager

Pleats Curtains & Blinds is a local business established in 2020 to provide excellent service and knowledgeable advice for Albertans looking to purchase custom window coverings. We are looking for a dynamic and self-starting Business Development Manager interested in growing with us. The role is responsible for proactively developing new business via phone calls, face-to-face meetings, and through social media with existing customers and new prospects. This is a full-time position located in our Edmonton showroom.
This role is ideally suited for someone with 2+ years of business development and/or outside sales experience preferably in the interior decor or construction industry. The individual must be self-motivated, organized and detail oriented. Effective interpersonal skill is critical in order to build positive relationships with clients and convey client needs to other team members. Dedication to client satisfaction is essential to the success of this role.
**Responsibilities**
- Maintain positive relationships and collaboration with customers, industry partners, and internal staff and follow-up on new prospects
- Identifying underserved markets and collaborate in the development of marketing strategies/referral programs
- Greet and work with customers in the showroom and conduct in-home consultations (including measuring window dimensions) with occasional installation support
- Record all customer interactions in our CRM system with next steps scheduled
- Support the ordering and installation process by accurately conveying client needs to other team members.
- Ensure timely, consistent and accurate communication with customers through the entire sales process from initial contact to arranging installation and post-sale follow up
**Job Requirements**
- At least 2 years of business development or outside sales experience.
- Self-starter with strong inter-personal skills that can work with limited supervision
- Interested in expanding and maintaining business relationships & personal network.
- Valid driver's license required. Willingness to using personal vehicle for travel is optional but preferred (compensation covered).
**Assets**
- Experience with window coverings (blinds & drapery)
- Established network in construction or interior décor industry
- Second Language an asset
**Education**
- High school or equivalent
- Courses/Diploma in interior decor or business development is an asset
**Full-Time (approx. 32.5/hours per week)**
The position is immediate, full-time, working approximately 5 days a week, 6.5 hours a day. Start time of 10:00am and ending 5:00pm.
Willing to have some flexibility in working outside of the standard hours to accommodate client's schedule.
**Base pay ($20-26/hr) + commission (4% of sales)**
