Fries Tallman Lumber, located in Regina and Fort Qu’Appelle, is one of the oldest independently owned retail lumberyards in Saskatchewan. The Vision of Fries Tallman Lumber is to provide exceptional service and products to our communities.
Fries Tallman Lumber is seeking a professional, highly motivated and service orientated Operations Manager to assume responsibilities for our Regina operations. On a daily basis, the Operations Manager must conduct themselves with high energy and a clear focus on growing the business and mentoring staff.
Reporting to the Vice President, the Operations Manager responsibilities will include: Working alongside operations employees, equipment, vehicles, receiving and unloading, operations housekeeping and maintenance of all operations equipment. The Operations manager is to assist managers with all building and services in the yard, and warehouse.
Priorities also include but not limited to: Customer service, maintaining budgets, scheduling, supervising employees, overseeing forklift operations, loading orders, delivery of products, receiving, managing inventory.
**Responsibilities and Duties**
**Preferred Job Requirements and Competencies**
- Post Secondary education preferred.
- Strong business acumen with a good financial understanding
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills along with a proven track record in building rapport and maintaining relationships with clients, management, and staff
- Work cooperatively and effectively with others to foster a team environment to reach common goals
- Good analytical, decision-making and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach and motivate the staff team
- Ability to prioritize and effectively execute tasks in a high-pressure environment to meet deadlines
- Excellent written, oral and presentation skills
- A valid driver’s license
- A background with safety is an asset
**Qualifications and Skills**
- Post Secondary education preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in leadership role
