Assistant General Manager

**The Role**
As Assistant General Manager, you will:
- Report directly to the COO and oversee the Regional Managers.
- Be available for **emergencies 7 days a week**, ensuring swift resolution of high-priority issues.
- Lead and support Regional Managers to drive accountability, performance, and consistent execution.
- Ensure policies, procedures, and brand standards are consistently followed across all locations.
- Oversee vendor quotes, service contracts, and resolve operational challenges.
- Drive revenue growth, NOI performance, and operational efficiencies through hands-on leadership.
- Take ownership of facility and property oversight — inspecting sites, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining high standards of care.
- Roll up your sleeves when needed: understand and assist with **basic repairs, troubleshooting equipment, and supporting staff on the ground**.
- Balance **strategic leadership** (financial performance, policy enforcement, team development) with **operational involvement** (solving problems, coaching staff, maintaining facilities).
**What We’re Looking For**
- 5+ years of multi-site operations experience (hospitality, property management, or self-storage strongly preferred).
- Strong **problem-solving ability** — able to troubleshoot issues, think critically, and create effective solutions.
- Solid **technology skills** including:
- Experience with **access control systems** (managing tenant access, troubleshooting gate/keypad issues).
- Comfort with **CRM and property management systems** for tenant management, reporting, and operations (e.g., Sitelink, Yardi, or equivalent).
- Ability to analyze **reporting and financial dashboards** to make informed decisions.
- General digital fluency to adapt quickly to new tools and platforms.
- High **accountability and retention of knowledge** — someone who learns quickly, applies policies consistently, and coaches others effectively.
- **Coachability and growth mindset** — eager to learn, open to feedback, and driven to succeed.
- **Financial acumen** with experience managing budgets, controlling expenses, and driving NOI.
- A passion for **delivering an exceptional client experience** by developing well-trained staff and ensuring operational excellence at every level.
- Comfort with **facility oversight** — from inspecting and enforcing compliance to understanding basic repairs and supporting staff on-site.
- A **people-first leadership style** — motivating teams, building strong relationships, and fostering a supportive, high-performance culture.
- Willingness to travel 3-4 days per week across Ontario and be available for emergencies outside of standard hours.
**Work Location & Travel Requirements**
This role is based out of our Woodbridge Head Office, with the expectation of being on the road a minimum of 3-4 days per week to visit and support our stores. Our properties are located throughout Southern Ontario and are generally within approximately one hour’s driving distance from Head Office. This ensures that travel is regular but manageable — you won’t be spending hours on the road, but rather staying closely connected to the sites and teams you support.
