**Summary**

Assist the general manager in overseeing membership sales, membership experience, the safety and cleanliness of the gym, and provide excellent member experience. It is also the responsibility of the assistant general manager to help develop and implement strategies to improve overall performance and profitability. The Assistant General Manager is responsible for:

- Fulfilling the sales plan of the management team
- Maintenance of equipment, ensuring everything is clean and working; Preforming maintenance repairs and calls when necessary
- Provide excellent member experience and safety; Ensure that members are safe and enjoy their experience
- Assist in resolving problems quickly, and answering inquiries
- Ensures staff are punctual, presentable for the role and are preforming at their best
- Assist in developing staff and delivering new training techniques/updates

Knowledge and Skill Requirements to Become a Successful Assistant General Manager:

- One must have strong interest in health and fitness
- Personable and able to relate with both staff and members
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbally
- Extensive knowledge on equipment
- Detail-oriented with organizational skills
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures and regulations

Education and Training Requirements:

- Personal Trainer or Group Fitness Instructor Certificate
- 2+ years’ experience working in a gym
- 1+ year(s) in an administrative or management role

Schedule:

- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekends as needed
