**Policy Coordinator (4 Month Contract)**

**THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE**:
A general overview of the position to help the reader understand the purpose and how it relates to other jobs in the organization. Reporting the Sr. Advisor, Policy and Government Relations, the Policy Coordinator will provide assistance to Save the Children Canada’s Policy and Government Relation team and Humanitarian Affairs Teams.
**Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)**:

- Policy analysis of the Canadian Government (for children in crisis, including Gaza, climate justice, Gender equality)
- Participation in sectors meeting
- Monitoring news, online group discussions, reports, etc.
- Supporting in the development of tools and materials for advocacy initiatives including literature reviews and background research, policy briefs.
- Prepare briefs and assist in organization of meetings and outreach to key stakeholders
- Support the preparation of roundtables, events or external meetings on relevant development or humanitarian issues and topics.
- Assist in development of materials for campaign and communications such as infographics, social media posts and case-studies.
- Support event logistics.
**Qualifications include (but are not limited to)**:
- Postsecondary education in the field of International Development, International Relations, Human Rights, International law and/or relevant field is a strong asset.
- Completion of undergraduate degree is required, graduate degree preferred
- Understanding of children’s rights standards and principles or humanitarian principles, programming and policy.
- Strong research, writing and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated interest in monitoring and evaluation, quantitative and qualitative research, or statistical methods within the development and/or humanitarian sector.
- Ability to communicate in French, is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, and thrives in a diverse environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of tools; Knowledge of SharePoint an asset.
- Home based internet connection and personal computer to connect to Save the Children servers.
**WHAT WE OFFER**
This position salary range between **$48,307.23 - $59,756.48 **CAD** depending on skills and experience. In addition to this, our employees will have the following package of additional benefits:
